Good morning readers. I’ll take member questions in comments and during this afternoon’s live chat. Subscribers can expect the chat invitation around 2 p.m. eastern. A handful of potential topics:
The mid-air collision on approach to DCA. Specifically, my view that congressional Dems should demand an investigation of whether Trump’s lawless, destabilizing blitz against the civil service, and/or the loyalists he appointed to the Pentagon, contributed to the crash in any way. Political, yes, but a completely—completely—fair point of inquiry.
My broader view that we deserve a Democratic Party that can be counted on to fill the breach in these moments. Who wouldn’t sleep much better through these next years if there were a real cop on the beat?
The impoundment crisis that was, but may no longer be?
Elon Musk’s harebrained scheme to trick civil servants into quitting their jobs.
This is the right way to respond to Trump when he does something illegal. Respect to Phyllis Fong.
Crunch time for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, and the Republican senators who will determine just how badly to compromise our government.
There’s obviously much more under the sun. Feel free to pick my brain about any of it.
UPDATE: Early for once, in part because I’ll have to sneak out a little early, too…
