I'm almost finished with Virginia Giufrre's memoir. It's sickening, but as you said, the Tates are worse. That both Epstein and the Tates are connected to donald trump, tells thoughtful people all they need to know about trump and the "manosphere."
Occam's razor cuts here - you propose that the decline of reading and weak opposition are the causes of the "eerily mute" response of the MAGAsphere and international right-wing groups to the Tate brothers. The Occam's answer is simpler - they approve of and support this kind of stuff.

Senators Raskin, Peters, and Blumenthal took oversight action last year, in addition to Rep. Ansari’s actions you mentioned.
Should there be more noise about this? Absolutely, but to claim that Dems have done no oversight is incorrect.
