Hold on to your butts.
Donald Trump has revised and extended his closing pitch to voters by telling women he’ll be their “protecter” “whether the women like it or not,” and by promising to let RFK Jr. make measles great again.
Judging by the email and online response, Tuesday’s newsletter about the Washington Post boycott really resonated with readers, and (just as notably, to me) generated almost no pushback from within the industry.
I’d hoped (forlornly) that all major outlets would see the rush for the exits at the Post and start asking themselves whether they’re taking their own subscribers for granted. Seems they did not.
Mark my word1, if Trump wins by a whisper, I will kick off the next set of Trump years by leading a mainstream-media boycott campaign.
Fortunately, anxious as I am, I don’t think that’s gonna happen. (No predictions.)
