Hello again readers. Hope everyone had a restful Juneteenth holiday. Much seems frozen in place until next week’s presidential debate. But that doesn’t mean nothing important has happened or will change between now and then. Consider:
We await the Supreme Court’s decision in Donald Trump’s dilatory immunity case. They already found for him on the “dilatory” half of his appeal by first agreeing to hear arguments as late as possible, then slow-walking the opinion. But we could learn as soon as today whether Republican justices have left the window open a crack for a pre-election January 6 trial or chosen to slam it shut.
We also await Donald Trump’s reaction to this Fox News survey showing Joe Biden taking the lead in the network’s head-to-head polling.
JUST KIDDING! He obviously called it a fake poll (in so many words) and lashed out at Fox for not being sufficiently dedicated propagandists.
Chuck Schumer should rescind Bibi Netanyahu’s invitation to address a joint session of Congress.
How's this for a headline: “Robert Morris, Trump’s one-time spiritual advisor, resigned as the pastor of his Texas megachurch after admitting to ‘inappropriate sexual behavior’ with a 12-year-old girl.” Anyone remember Jeremiah Wright? Or is the idea that everyone knows Trump is an unchurched degenerate, so it doesn’t count?
Relatedly, it’s time to turn the tables on MAGA and its Jeffrey Epstein headfakes. We don’t have proof that Trump was an Epstein client or accomplice or abettor, but we’re hardly in “always the ones you least suspect” territory either.
Trump promises to un-forgive tens of billions of dollars in student debt.
Have Trump’s goons intimidated U.S. media companies out of distributing The Apprentice, an unflattering Trump biopic, before the election?
By no means a comprehensive list this week. I’ll chat with paid subscribers about all of it, plus anything I missed, around 2 p.m. ET. And for those who aren’t the live-chat types, I’ll be poking around comments throughout the day.
